Good tech, slow billing help
The technical side has worked well, but getting a billing question answered has been frustrating. I expected a quicker reply.

Looking at 53 reviews, opinions about the overall experience are mixed. Many reviewers praise the value of the VPS and dedicated server plans, citing competitive prices, strong performance, and useful server options. Some describe stable service and reliable network performance, while others highlight helpful, knowledgeable staff who made setup or support questions easier to handle....
However, some customers report slow or unanswered support tickets, difficulty resolving billing or account-approval problems, and trouble reaching support through the website. Others describe delayed or failed server provisioning, outages or performance issues, and problems with the control panel. A few also raise concerns about price changes, unexpected charges, or IP reputation and geolocation.

This is terrible, I'm waiting for the 25mins+ for the VPS to be up&running!
been running a vps with ovhcloud for over a year and it hasn't gone down once support replies slow though
The included OS choices were a nice touch; speeds have been better than I expected 🙂
Tech is good, used to be much better priced. Billing support is a joke. 3 days, 3 tickets. 1 reply. How on earth can there not be 24hr support for servers? I can get this kind of support on many other providers. If I didn't already have users on the servers, I'd move.
I used an OVHcloud ADVANCE-1 2024 dedicated server from 20 April 2026 until the final cancellation confirmation on 6 October 2026 — about 169 elapsed days, or roughly 5 months and 16 days. The server was hosted in LIM3, Limburg, Germany, running Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS, with an AMD EPYC 4244P, 32 GB DDR5 ECC, 2 × 960 GB Enterprise NVMe SSDs, software RAID, 3 Gbps public bandwidth and 25 Gbps private network capacity. One confirmed invoice was USD 132.25, around SAR 496, while my practical monthly cost was generally around SAR 500–550. The hardware itself was decent. My problem was the experience around the server. During account/payment verification I was asked for extensive verification, including passport identification, a selfie and images related to payment cards. Soon after setup, I had SSH/access problems and had to use Rescue Mode. In April and May I spent a lot of time troubleshooting boot, SSH, GRUB and recovery. Around 9–10 May, Rescue Mode credentials were not arriving as expected and ticket #679755 was opened. I had to work through filesystem mounts, GRUB reinstall/update, Boot to Disk, reboots and repeated SSH timeouts. Another major problem was the split between OVHcloud US and OVHcloud World/Europe. OVH is a French company, my physical server was in Germany, but parts of my account/support experience were tied to OVHcloud US while other actions required the World/European system. In May I repeatedly tried to create/use an OVHcloud World account using iPhone, laptop, different browsers, Hotmail and Gmail. Verification emails arrived several times, but registration could still fail, freeze or reject the process. I also investigated upgrading the server, but the practical answer was to order a new dedicated server, migrate the data manually, likely change IPs, then cancel the old one. That is technically possible, but not a smooth upgrade path. The cancellation process was also confusing. Around 1 October I initiated cancellation through Bare Metal Cloud → Dedicated Servers. Instead of receiving a clear permanent cancellation confirmation immediately, the first result was a suspension-type status. On 4 October I followed up under request #742625 asking for permanent termination, no future renewal or billing, and written confirmation that no paid options remained. I had to follow up again by email. Finally, on 6 October 2026, Oscar from OVHcloud US Support confirmed that the server had been “fully canceled” and that “no further renewals will be processed.” He also confirmed there were no linked add-ons such as licenses or extra IPs. That final response was clear and appreciated. However, I cannot turn almost five and a half months of account friction, Rescue Mode issues, missing credentials, boot/GRUB recovery, fragmented US/World support, failed registration attempts, limited upgrade flexibility and a confusing cancellation process into a positive rating just because the final cancellation was handled correctly. The server hardware was respectable. The weakest part was the customer experience around account management, recovery, support routing, mobile usability, upgrade flexibility and cancellation. For a service costing about USD 132.25 / SAR 496 on a confirmed invoice and generally around SAR 500+ per month, I expected a much smoother experience. OVHcloud should improve account unification, verification reliability, mobile usability, Rescue Mode credential delivery, support escalation, upgrade/migration paths, and permanent cancellation confirmation.
I ordered a RISE-S dedicated server from OVHcloud US on 14 September and paid $877.80 for a full year upfront. As I write this on 20 September, that server has never booted an operating system. Not once. OVH's own API still reports its OS as "none". This is not a misconfiguration on my side. What has actually happened: - Six attempts to install Ubuntu 24.04, through both the API and the OVH control panel. Every one either sat in the queue and never started, or was refused outright with "Server resource ... is already locked by another process, blocking any new OS reinstallation". - The install task sitting on the server right now has been in "todo" since yesterday. Its scheduled start time moves forward by one minute, every minute. It has never begun. - Restarting the server from the control panel also fails with an error. - The only thing that has ever worked is rescue mode. From there I could see the hardware is fine: both NVMe drives present, SMART status PASSED, disks completely blank. So this isn't a dead machine. Something on OVH's side is stuck, and in six days nobody has unstuck it. The support experience has been worse than the fault itself. I opened a ticket on 15 September. I have had three replies in six days. One of them told me the datacenter team had "reviewed this matter" and asked me to confirm everything was working — nothing had been fixed and the server was still unreachable. The last reply of any kind came on 17 September. Since then, silence. I've used the live chat several times. Every time I'm told the datacenter team is looking into it and to wait for a ticket update. In one chat the agent asked me a question and then closed the chat for "inactivity" six minutes later, while I was sitting there waiting for them. Nobody has ever given me an ETA. On 17 September I asked to simply be moved to a different server. No response. On 19 September I gave written pre-authorization for any physical intervention at all — reboot it, swap components, replace the whole machine, there is no data on it. No response. Then I asked for a refund. I opened a ticket titled "CANCEL ORDER + FULL REFUND". It was closed without a single reply. I reopened it as a new ticket. That one was closed without a reply either. Two refund requests, zero responses, both marked resolved. That is what turned this from bad luck into something I would warn other people about. Hardware fails, and I can live with that. But when a brand new server cannot be made to work for six days, the answer is obvious: give the customer a different machine, or give them their money back. Instead I'm holding an $877 invoice for a server I have never been able to use for a single second, an open ticket nobody answers, and refund requests that get closed in silence. If you're considering OVHcloud, think hard before paying a year upfront. The pricing is genuinely good. But price only matters if the server works — and if it doesn't, you may find there's no practical way to get help and no practical way to get your money back. The support team answered quickly and handled my questions kindly, which made the setup feel straightforward.
would give 0 stars if I could, 98% price increase with 1 month notice....... I can by my own hardware 3 months worth of this cost.... I can understand increasing the price of new machines but my ram that you bought for the machine i have been using has not gone up you are doing a capital raise from existing customers giving 1 moth notice its scummy.
Quick and friendly support The support team responded quickly and was very kind throughout. Questions were answered without long waits, and everything I needed was handled smoothly. Happy with the experience.
