Looking at 51 reviews, most reviewers were very happy with their overall experience. Many appreciate the knowledgeable, helpful service, including quick answers to questions and guidance on parts and machine options. Reviewers also frequently praise prompt shipping, careful packaging, and orders arriving as expected. Those who discuss arcade machines often highlight their build quality and craftsmanship, while parts customers value the selection and competitive pricing....
However, a few customers describe problems, including an order that was accepted despite the item being out of stock and an inquiry that went unanswered. One machine owner reported parts coming loose during regular use and difficulty getting repair help from a distance; another reviewer felt a console was expensive.

That proper joystick feel. The cabinet has stayed in great shape despite getting used often. Playing familiar classics with a real joystick has a different feel from tapping a screen; that hands-on part is what makes it special at home, and the solid build makes it feel like a lasting piece of the room.
I purchased the Cocktail arcade machine that has 516 arcade games! Build is solid and customer service is pretty good! However, the Canadian build comes with an American coin slot that takes American quarters only! I could easily fix this issue if the screw holding the magnet in place were easy to remove! The tiny screw is in so tight that I'd have to drill it out just to remove the magnet! Strange how a Canadian build uses American parts! Anyways the acrcade unit itself is well made at least and should outlive the user! Some of the games use a trackball that isn't included in the build so I don't know why they're even there! Some arcade classics are missing like Berzerk, Asteriods and Ghouls and Ghosts to name a few! The arcade cabinet itself can only be turned on and off by using a remote control and an adapter for the plug in (included). Overall I'm happy with my purchase and would recommend this product considering you can afford the price of admission!
really pleased with how the cabinet came together. i had a lot of questions about the options, and the answers helped me choose a setup that felt right for me. the finished machine feels personal rather than off-the-shelf, and it has been a fun addition at home. the parts i ordered for another project also arrived in good shape.
A handy local source for arcade parts. I was glad to find the pieces I needed without having to look beyond Canada, and the order showed up promptly and in good condition. The parts felt solid, too. It’s nice having a supplier that understands this niche rather than sorting through general electronics listings. I don't have much patience for guessing which bits fit, so useful product information and knowledgeable answers are a real plus. For a small cabinet project, that made the whole job feel less of a hunt.
Placed an order for a handful of Sanwa joysticks for an arcade cabinet project. Quick shipping time, happy with the price and quality. Great experience overall. Nice to have a Canadian arcade parts supplier. Shipping from the United States is a costly endeavour, and most arcade replacement parts I find are located in the US.
I contacted Retro arcade after a lot of research into the best stand up arcade companies around. They not only had the best machines, but they have the best customer service. I asked many questions and even visited the store before I purchased my machine. All of my questions were answered quickly and with a lot information. My machine was customized to my specs and when it arrived it was packed to perfection. I have recommended this company to everyone I know who is even remotely thinking of buying their own personal arcade. I always wanted my own machine and now I have one....I may never leave my home again..!
We contacted this company from our vacation home, and then came to Edmonton to check their products out. Very impressed that they build all their own machines, and they are family owned using almost all Canadian components. Picked up a 2 gamer 5000 games!!, and will be returning next week to pick up a Daytona driving game. These people are our kind of people. Very down to earth. You will not be disappointed. I'm really glad that I found Retroactive Arcade because not only that they are Canadian based, but they have an efficient ordering process: fast shipping, and good communication. Their website is also nice and they carry many items and at fair pricing too. This is my place to go for all my arcade supplies moving forward. I highly recommend them!
Received product in great time Product was in perfect shape and exactly what I ordered
I bought a 4-player cabinet from them after months of research. Everything was done onlien and over the phone to discuss options. They were helpful and patient and really seemed to care about my experience and the products they make. The building and delivery process were top notch, with status updates and very quick responses to inquiries. The unit itsef is amazing. It’s trully plug and play and just a wonder to behold. I really couldn’t be happier with it or with my pirchase experience and would highly recommend to anyone looking for an arcade machine.
