That was a relief
Honestly, I felt looked after when an item arrived faulty. I contacted the shop, explained what was wrong, and they arranged to send a replacement without asking me to post the damaged one back. That took the awkwardness out of the whole thing; I didn't have to chase a complicated return or argue over whether the issue counted. The item itself was the problem, not the way they handled it, and the response left me with a much better impression than the initial disappointment. That's the part I'll remember.
