Is the Epic Games launcher reliable?

Many reviewers describe a slow or buggy launcher, including downloads or installations that stall, games that fail to open, crashes, and problems after updates. Experiences vary, but launcher reliability is a recurring complaint.

What do reviewers say about customer support?

Many reviewers say support relied on automated replies or did not resolve their issue, especially for account access, reports, and purchases. A few describe helpful or prompt assistance, so reports are not uniformly negative.

Can support help recover a lost or suspended account?

Some reviewers report difficulty recovering accounts after suspected hacking or suspension, including trouble reaching a person or getting a decision changed. These are individual reports and do not establish how any particular case will be handled.

How do reviewers describe gameplay performance?

Some report lag, bugs, crashes, or inconsistent servers in Fortnite and other games. Others raise concerns about matchmaking, game balance, or decisions they felt were unfair. The reports vary by game and experience.

Are refunds straightforward?

Some reviewers say refund requests were denied or did not lead to a resolution, including cases where they felt they had barely used a game. Another reviewer reported that a refund link led to an error page. Their accounts do not indicate what outcome every request will receive.

Have reviewers reported problems with purchases or in-game currency?

Some describe confusion with gift cards, account selection, or where funds were applied; others report missing currency or difficulty using purchased currency on another platform. These are individual experiences rather than a guarantee that a purchase will have the same issue.

No code, no entry

The sign-in process is a dead end when the verification code never arrives. I couldn't get into the site, and basic access shouldn't be this unreliable.

Gostava imensamente de saber como e que alguém tem coragem de criar e publicar um launcher tão penoso quanto isto.

A terrible

Terrible launcher – deletes all your games! I tried reinstalling the launcher because of lagging, and it wiped all my installed games without any warning. Waste of time. Done with Epic, buying everything on Steam now.

epic games try their best to make good games so don't go hating on them because your a sore loser

the reason I'm writing this is because of Fortnite the game is great but I was wondering if me and my friend could have icon skins as we are also brand new YouTubers and no that does not mean your have to make us icon skins I support the decision no matter what have a great day sincerely the YouTubers G2 WFX gaming

A dead end for help

A report that needed a real person. I couldn't get useful help through the support replies, and account recovery felt closed off too; the automated prompts didn't get me closer to a solution. That left me uneasy about relying on the service for anything sensitive, especially when the issue needs an actual conversation.

Big Brother is watching you. Es wäre schön, wenn man sich im Store anmelden könnte. Aber plötzlich funktioniert das nicht mehr. Behaltet eure kostenlose Spiele. Kaufen werde ich jetzt auch keine mehr von Epic.

Poor security and incompetent service

I must have signed up years ago (I don’t remember it) but haven’t logged in for years. Out of the blue, I got an email notification that my account had been suspended due to a ‘violation of our community rules’. I appealed and said that I haven’t logged in for years so clearly the account had been hacked, and asking can they do something about it. They upheld the suspension, and did nothing about the hack. So not only do they have poor security protocols, they are also incompetent. Also took weeks to action my account deletion request.
