paid promotion fell flat

the promotion package brought little traction for me; doing outreach on my own worked better. i'd think carefully before paying for this.

A pending key request can just sit there, with no clear way to reach the publisher or get an answer. Pretty frustrating.

Wish I could give zero! “Burying subscription cancellation under ‘Entitlements’ rather than standard industry terms like ‘Billing’ or ‘Subscription’ is precisely why users cannot find it and are forced to contact support. Providing clear UI labels is essential for a transparent user experience. For your records, I have already revoked Key mailer's recurring payment authorization directly within PayPal. Please ensure my account status is officially updated to reflect this cancellation on your backend. I no longer wish to be contacted.” I thought that would be the end of it. It wasn’t. On September 28, 2026, I received another automated email from them despite having hit “Unsubscribe” and explicitly demanding my account be removed weeks prior. Frustrated, I sent a direct final warning demanding they stop emailing me and purge my account. Instead of taking ownership, support tried to reframe the entire situation: “Apologies, I believe your request was primarily regarding subscriptions rather than our mailshots. But that is properly understood moving forward. We have removed your personal data from our marketing materials… Regarding your account deletion, we can move forward with it, but you do have remaining days for your subscription. Please let me know if we should move forward with account deletion now or when the subscription ends…” I didn’t let them off the hook: “This isn’t a misunderstanding; this is you failing to do your job, and your platform failed to unsubscribe me. I have already said to delete my account. I don’t care if I have time left on it, since I no longer wish to use your platform, where you fail to disclose that you need to pump a bunch of money in order to get seen. Not every indie studio has money like that.” Fortunately, because I had paid via PayPal, I was able to log into my payment settings and revoke their recurring billing mandate directly, cutting off their access at the source. To hold the platform accountable for these predatory patterns, I also submitted a formal complaint regarding deceptive cancellation flows to the Competition Bureau Canada. Burying cancellation options under obscure menus, ignoring explicit opt-out requests, and using pay-for-reach models that squeeze small creators are unacceptable practices. It’s a design model so dark that if it existed in Skyrim, the Thieves Guild would be running it as a gold mine.

Sadly can't give 0 stars. Total waste of time, they send you beta keys to give feedback on and promise keys for the full game, but you never get those and they don't respond to emails.

Full of 💩 They claim my "average views" are "too low" and yet I have FOUR times the amount of average views that my best friend has, they constantly ignore messages on their forum and don't have ANY customer service whatsoever. Please don't waste your time, they will only frustrate you to death ☠️

Keymailer was perfect in the past but…

Keymailer was perfect in the past but since a year they got really worst, you need a lot of views for YT videos, and even if you were accredited in the past, you lose you access. Since I don't really do many videos it was okay, we have a magazine where we do reviews but even here they only recognize 71k from 4 million because they can't add views from newsletter and app. And again our magazine is on hold with "Application In Review", if your channel gets on hold you can't even post reviews you already wrote, but the days are still running to post the review. It can take up to four or more weeks until your channel is again ready. For every review you don't post you get flagged even if you are not able to post it because of the hold. Support got so bad, they don't answer and if they do, they don't understand what's your problem, so you have to write a lot of times to get the issues solved, and they ask you still link and so on even if you provided it before in the mail. It's like wasting your time, because they won't really help you. I understand if support needs a bit of time or if on Christmas or other big weeks, they are overloaded with mails, but it doesn't matter, they just don't answer or if yes, like I said, with questions you already told in the previous mail. You also get flagged and a remember that content is missing, for keys you reported because they were wrong or didn't work and even with the right tags they can't find your content always.

INDIE DEVS be warned

Purchased the lowest tier for marketing just to see if it would do anything. The service they provided it did not amount to anything like seriously I was way more successful doing promotion by myself. INDIE DEVS be warned better to do promotion yourself, you want people interested in YOU and your game.

Indie dev here - streamers, I beg you, DO NOT use their service

Keymailer LIMITS the number of keys indie games can RECEIVE to 10 per month. Yes, a measly ten keys per month, even at launch. Do I need to say more than this? That is, of course, unless devs are willing to pay. But pay for what? There is literally a JUNGLE of subscriptions you have to choose from, at insane prices. Think double to three digits, hundreds of dollars per month. I am COWCAT, the developer of such games as BROK the InvestiGator (98% Overwhelmingly positive on Steam) I am more than willing to pay for services which provide additional value, but not at the expense of others. This company is profiting off the misery of indie devs who can't afford it but who are desperately trying to get any visibility. More than this, they don't even filter all scammers. When it was still usable, I accidentally sent keys through the service to proven scammers. I was here at launch. It got progressively worse. At first everything was free. Then they made "searches/discovery" subs, which I was okay with. Then more and more subs popped up. Then one day they decided to LIMIT the number of key requests you can RECEIVE unless you pay...this is where I cross the line. They are leeches. Streamers, if you're interested in our games, PLEASE reach the devs directly, just shoot us an email or a DM. We'll be more than happy to send one your way and to work with you!

Incorrectly marks as no content provided for keys you reject

I just noticed today that keys I've rejected get marked on your "redeemed" section as though you have taken them expecting content to be created, and even those you don't accept in time and expire which you clearly cannot create content for give a big red X mark on your account as though you're expected to take every single key you are offered and create content for it. This tarnishes your reputation for keys you actually will create content for as even though you've got a 100% record of creating content for every game you have been provided they will tarnish full of "didn't create content" for all the games you reject as these don't fit your channel or other reasons for not accepting the keys, it's all irrelevant as the site will just put marks against your account front and center which devs will see instead of the actual content you've created and that you've got a great track record of creating great content for the games you do accept which fit your channel. This not only tarnishes your reputation as they incorrectly mark you as expecting content for games you haven't received keys for claiming that you've "redeemed" the key as it's in your redeemed section even though you've rejected the key and do not have that game so will not be creating content and have refused it as you will not be creating content, but this also tarnishes the reputation of keymailer as they make it look like most people aren't creating content with keys taken incorrectly and it's just a whole mess, lets not even talk about how they made it so you can't even apply to most games anymore and there's hidden requirements as to what exactly makes it possible to apply these days. There are much better options and the site has really gone downhill, but this discovery of how they're tarnishing reputations of creators to developers by incorrectly claiming keys were redeemed and no content created is just absolutely unacceptable. This needs to be put right immediately as they are tarnishing creator's reputations by claiming keys were redeemed when they weren't and that content wasn't created.
