The map detail is what stood out during my Elden Ring run; it helped me notice content I would otherwise have missed. I also liked being able to suggest unmarked spots, so contributing felt useful rather than just browsing. For a game with plenty to find, this was a genuinely helpful companion.
oh, this map made it easier to keep track of the places I still needed to find. the one-time access felt worth it for a game I was exploring.
They are charging me 11.99$ just suddenly out of the blue. I never asked to be premium (I haven't been on the website since Clair obscur and never paid, I don't know how they got my credit card info). No option on the website to stop these payments so I had to signal them to my bank and destroy my card.
I bought two single Map PRO maps back then, but I can no longer use them. For example, on the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 map, my account shows 548 locations found, yet when I try to mark another location, I get the message: "Free users can mark up to 50 locations. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited tracking!" When I click Upgrade to Pro, I can no longer purchase the individual map. The only option available is the MapGenie+ subscription.
The map is paid; naturally they need to get survive like the rest of us. It is of superior quality to any other mapping service I've ever used. Single payment for lifetime access to dozens of games and handles progress for years. Some maps are outdated but changes come quickly. Adding suggestions (when discovering unmarked content) seems to speed up the process and gives another thing to do. I recommend it unequivocally.
Maps and site are ok, but they are getting greedy: 50% price increase this year alone, from 9,99$ to 14,99$.
I was using it to obtain some maps for Escape From Tarkov - mapgenie used to be a great resource for this. Some maps are locked down, and I almost paid to unlock them. That was until I noticed that the maps are outdated and locations on them are totally different to what is in game. Yet they're still trying to sell a premium version. It seems so dishonest. Please be careful and check everything over if you are thinking of making a purchase, you may get stung like I almost did.
been for the past 2 years been getting rammed with 503 errors i message people who own site and nothing they ignored and even on there site they use for live support have banned me i dont recommend the site no more worse site ever
I wanted to take out a subscription for $10 per year. Being a big gamer, I really wanted to do 100% second runs of several games. But instead I ended up paying $5 for a single map... I’m willing to take some responsibility, but I find their system not very clear. I sent an email to support to ask them for a refund, saying clearly that I would take the subscription from behind. I received a response today and got a refund.
I love the help of this mapgenie. I use it for TOTK alot but somehow it deleted all the progress of "seen" items for example... the Shrines. Everytime I found a few of them and complete the trials I put a "seen" on mapgenie so I know I already done that one. Suddenly all my progress was gone... tried to login but I was already logged in so that was not the problem. I'm sad 😞 I have botw now too... I'm a bit worried it will end up the same as the pro payment on totk and lose all progress. Maybe a fault of my own? For the rest its perfect!
